The Music Society of Myanmar's Festival and Competition is the country's premier music festival, designed to bring together international and local artists, students and enthusiasts from all over Myanmar to immerse in an intensive nine days of music-making and sharing.
Due to COVID-19, the fourth edition of the Festival and Competition will be held online from 17 - 25 July 2020 and includes private lessons and live-streamed masterclasses with the Festival Directors and Artists, workshops, seminars, panel discussions, competitions and virtual concerts.
The festival aims to create a collaborative environment for musicians in Myanmar to make music with the guidance of international artists, and to build international friendships through music. In order to make this available to music lovers of all backgrounds, the festival is cost-free for all participants and audiences. A full tuition scholarship is given to all accepted active participants, which would cover their private lessons, masterclasses and participation in workshops and seminars. All concerts, masterclasses, seminars, workshops and panel discussions are open to audit participants and the general public free of charge.
