Hyeonjeong Kim

Hyeonjeong Kim, soprano, received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance at the University of Kentucky. A native of Incheon, South Korea, Mrs. Kim received her Bachelor of Music degree from Seoul Theological University and her diploma in Performance at Milan National Conservatorio of Music “Giuseppe Verdi” in Italy. During her stays in Italy, she performed many Verdi and Puccini songs. In 2016, she was selected as one of the prominent young artists in the Opera Idol Competition in Chicago. In 2017, she took first place in the Advanced Women category at the Kentucky State NATS competition (National Association of Teachers of Singing in the USA) and received the Gina Scaggs Epifano Audience Favorite Award. Additionally, Mrs. Kim took second place in the Alltech Vocal Scholarship Competition.
In 2018, she performed the main role, Anna Sørensen in Silent Night, Kevin Puts and Mark Campbell. In 2019, she performed the role of Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly. Currently she is teaching at Myanmar Institute of Theology. Mrs. Kim has a dramatic voice which suits to 19th century romantic Italian opera and the realistic verismo style music.
